Relaxation and Sleep Issues: Searching For Sleep
We record unique sounds to assist people with
relaxing, meditation and sleep. But running an Internet based business
requires knowledge in many different areas including search engine
optimization. Although we have a good word of mouth business the bulk of
our patrons discover us through online searches. This could all change
with one tiny wafer-thin mention from
Oprah but,
for now, it is what it is.
I must admit that dealing with the mechanics of
search engines has been like pulling teeth for me. I do not like
spending the time deducing search engine algorithms as it takes away
from the real work we do here... making virtually real audio scenarios.
As I type this Sleep Thought I am also thinking about page
ranking in search results. In fact, the underlying idea of search rankings
alters slightly what I type on this page and indeed on all the web
pages. I know we need to get the words sleep and sounds in
whatever we publish online as they are important to virtualdreamer.com's
ranking. Words like relaxing and nature help also.
In fact it's much better if you put words like nature,
relaxing, sleep and sounds... in bold type. Okay, now
I am just being cynical.
So, if you think that most web page designers are
botching up the King's English you can blame the ergo-dynamics of
Google, Bing, Yahoo, and the rest.
There is something that people who enjoy our concept
of virtually real relaxing sound environments can do to help our little
nature sound company. If one simply adds our homepage to your browser
favorites it can significantly improve our page's rank. One of these
days I will less concerned (I hope) with where our pages rank in
search results but for now I am not too proud to ask for help.
Lets see... did I get in the keywords sleep, sounds,
relaxing, and nature enough times and in the correct density? I'm
thinking yes. But what if I'm wrong?
My head hurts.
