Sleeping Soundly : Yada, yada, yada
I have had
a chance over the holidays to revisit some of the earlier virtual dreams
we had produced and decided to re-master a few. There has certainly been
a learning curve as I have plowed ahead in this new genre' and I was
taken aback with how much we had improved over time. The collective work
will never be completely done as new formats and audio effects will
continue to be implemented.
Our
Internet service provider Comcast has recently announced new download
speeds of up to 50 Megabytes per second. This is certainly the nail in
the coffin for store purchased audio CD's and the beginning of the end
for video DVD's as more and more people will simply download - in a
matter of seconds- what they want to purchase. With this type of
instant 'delivery system' must come a strong penalty for pirated media.
Of course that would take common sense which, these days, is not at all
that common.
I have
begun the process trying to figure out PHP format for future web
design<gulp!>. This will make searching and customizing the pages easier
for all. I am no webpage design guru so wish me luck!
I have
been sleeping soundly these days after we
purchased a nifty little digital recorder recently. It's a
Zoom H4N
portable field recorder. It is less bulky and records up to 320 kbs and
has a built-in USB interface... very cool.
I have
shelved plans of a Bicycle Ride in the Rain as I became sick trying to
record it earlier... its too damn cold here (today it's 17 degrees).
I may revisit the soundscape in the Spring.
Anyhoo,
that's a little bit of what is going on at the Virtual Dreamer hacienda.
I hope 2010 brings you everything you desire. Just be careful what you
wish for.
